thanks for the kind comments. I had already cropped quite a lot, especially the dull and trodden sand in the foreground, but I never thought to crop it portrait. I guess because it is a landscape photo with so much sunset in it. I will play around with that some more. I agree the subjects may be a little better further to the right, especially in the landscape shot, but as I remember there was a swimmer just behind them, which would have been an unwanted distraction in the frame.
