From my Flickr Photo Album

14th March 2009

I arrived in Torres at 6am and left at 11:40am to Praia Grande (SC)! so not here long to have a good look around but it isn’t a town as much as a long beach, so I think a few hours will be enough. The views from the cliff are very impressive, especially the steep cliffs, watching surfers, the canyon in the far distance and the sand dunes further south (west).

I didn’t check any hotels because, well because I’m not working for Lonely Planet and don’t want to spend the night here, but pretending I do work for a guide book, here is the bus timetable. Buses to PG (SC!) leave at 10:00 (except Saturday), 10:40 Saturday and Sunday, 16:00, 16:20, 17:30 (except Sunday).

I slept on the bus but on the odd moment I awoke there seemed to be impressive scenery of green crops and mountains. The bus stopped at the river as the bridge was washed away in heavy floods in January or February but there is a wooden suspension foot bridge you can cross, which reminded me of the ones in Chiang Rai I used to use on my Honda Dream.
